The Bhakthavatsalam Educational Trust was started in the year 1958 to commemorate the 60^th birthday of Late Sri. M. Bhakthavatsalam, the former CM of Tamil Nadu. There are many educational institutions started under the Trust. Thiru.A.Vamanan is present President of the Trust. Padmabhushan Dr.Smt. Sarojini Varadappan was the founder of the Sarojini varadappan girls higher secondary school and Sarojini varadappan girls Destitute Home situated in Poonamallee, Chennai-600056.
            Mr.V.K.Natarajan, B.Tech., M.S. Chemical Engg. (U.S.A), G.M.I.I.E. (Industrial Engg.,) is the present Correspondent of the School.
            The Sarojini Varadappan Girls Higher Secondary School was started at 1960. Realizing the importance of education for rural girl children from disadvantaged and /or destitute background. the Sarojini Varadappan Girls Destitute Home was started at 1978 inside our school premises.

To build a strong and healthy body with the help of good  food,  good lifestyle and yoga.
To attain crystal clear mental body which has good concentration , focus and positive attitude.
To prepare the students mentally to live a meaningful life with great awareness.
To provide education in both Tamil and English medium for girl children.
